Who can accept Confirmation? Church is an institution that has its own well-defined laws. This is because such a serious institution must be governed by law and order, and cannot be ruled by chance.

Therefore, for all sacraments, including Confirmation, there is a strict rules. It also specifies who may receive Confirmation. Above all, we need to know that Confirmation is given only once in a lifetime. It cannot be renounced or received again (e.g., in the case of apostasy).

Baptized must be well prepared and, above all, willing to accept the grace Holy Spirit. This cannot be forced or imposed. A series of meetings with priests must therefore be held which directly prepare the faithful to receive this sacrament and make us aware of what it really entails.

The person receiving Confirmation should have been previously, of course christened because these two sacraments are inextricably linked. In fact, Confirmation is a kind of re-confirmation baptism and complements baptism.

Before Confirmation, a person must be in a state of grace. Confession and Holy Communion must be received. Obviously, we may also not be subject to any of the prohibitions imposed in very specific cases by the Church. According to the official canon law The only person fit to receive Confirmation is the one who has been christenedand he wasn't yet Confirmed.
