What did Christ look like? Are there any pictures or likenesses depicting Christ's true appearance? Can we more or less define what Christ looked like? The true face of Christ is a mystery to us. It is hard to determine and perfectly reproduce the appearance of a person who walked in this world more than 2,000 years ago. However, his figure is very important to our culture. <\/span><\/p>\n

There has always been an image of what Christ looked like, which has been shaped and fixed over the years. In various types of film or artistic messages Christ is depicted as a handsome man with long hair and beard. In determining the true appearance of Christ, however, it is necessary to refer to scientific assistance, because in the biblical accounts we do not find much information on this subject. The scientific approach begins with the very origin of Christ. After all, he lived in the Middle East and had Jewish roots. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is therefore with great certainty that He must be pictured with a slightly dark, olive complexion. According to the biblical accounts, all we know is that Christ's appearance was pretty average and he didn't stand out from the crowd. There is also some doubt about His hairstyle, because in those days it was considered shameful to wear long hair. Christ therefore most likely had short, dark hair, Shiite facial features and wore a beard.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nWe should also remember about the existence of the Turin Shroud which has been regarded as the true reflection of Christ's image for years. His body was wrapped in the shroud immediately after the crucifixion and the image of the face and the whole silhouette of the Son of God was supposed to be preserved on it.
