It is suspected to have originated from Roman celebrations in honor of the deity of fruits and seeds, possibly from the Celtic <span id=\"urn:enhancement-b3f70be2-bb35-715c-043e-a6c2b8b76884\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/swieto\">holidays<\/span> to welcome winter <span id=\"urn:enhancement-b0bbf48a-2a51-4c7f-003d-1552e1be0599\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/samhain\">Samhain<\/span>. Nowadays, there is a widespread belief that <span id=\"urn:enhancement-d99131c5-c77e-dc7d-6916-72c5826d1949\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/halloween\">Halloween<\/span> is associated with <span id=\"urn:enhancement-c05dd3f5-732b-c597-811d-080001f5b08d\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/swieto\">holiday<\/span> the dead.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, both pagans and Christians commemorated their dead ancestors in the spring. The very name <span id=\"urn:enhancement-222ed2b6-a7bd-292d-c0c6-db88b4463636\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/halloween\">Halloween<\/span> is most likely derived from the shortened phrase - All Hallow's Eve <span id=\"urn:enhancement-973e21f4-20dc-638b-630f-4dc02f41f857\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/wszystkich_swietych\">All Saints<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>So <span id=\"urn:enhancement-725c3569-b548-ed98-e5cf-ca8bb725d57f\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/halloween\">Halloween<\/span> is actually derived from pagan beliefs and rituals. What then <span id=\"urn:enhancement-67a8cda7-f614-0177-5667-d494ffe47d9c\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/kosciol_organizacja\">Church<\/span> says about <span id=\"urn:enhancement-88485a50-77dc-9b77-090c-5b908e0f5395\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/halloween\">Halloween<\/span>? Probably many Christians disagree with the celebration of this <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9c7c0ff5-2091-cc14-553f-1daab42c6226\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/swieto\">holidays<\/span>. It is a certain novelty, a kind of deviation from the norm. After all, how to celebrate something that comes from believing in foreign idols? It is probably just a matter of personal attitude.<\/p>\n<p>When we do not attach any metaphysical value to it, when we treat it only as fun, a way to break away from everyday life - there is no problem. However, problems begin at the moment when <span id=\"urn:enhancement-53c2c71c-7deb-00cb-d4da-de9f9956b90a\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/halloween\">Halloween<\/span> we take too seriously. When we worship other people's idols and give part of ourselves to this holiday.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"urn:enhancement-a4d7087f-8db1-957e-c9f5-cf78a9668f27\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/kosciol_organizacja\">Church<\/span> The Catholic Church has not issued an official statement regarding <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9dae1196-648e-dc21-b404-10f59d2f3277\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/halloween\">Halloween<\/span>. However, <span id=\"urn:enhancement-fa7f8e23-c057-308f-e54f-11044fef5a76\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-place\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/watykan\">Vatican<\/span> (especially under Pope Benedict <span id=\"urn:enhancement-83a4fe8b-2b9b-36d3-6c4e-1025316d1f58\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/xvi_wiek\">XVI<\/span>) treats it <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9d666f2c-d940-8310-ebd9-ca1060ab41a3\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/swieto\">feast<\/span> as <span id=\"urn:enhancement-7b663174-b8a2-701a-eaae-1d17a83b6774\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/zlo\">evil<\/span> and warns. At the first Vatican conference of exorcists, a communiqu\u00e9 was issued warning against <span id=\"urn:enhancement-108fc3b0-5e28-f116-8b28-713da6cea29f\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/halloween\">Halloween<\/span>, especially among children.
