What does Easter mean?<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Co_to_jest_wielkanoc\"><\/span>What is Easter?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Co_to_wielkanoc\"><\/span>What's Easter?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span id=\"urn:enhancement-3e17ab8b\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">Easter<\/span> or <span id=\"urn:enhancement-267bc3db\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">Easter Sunday<\/span>Easter Sunday, also called Easter Sunday or Resurrection Sunday (in the Orthodox Church called Pascha) is one of the oldest and most important holidays celebrated by Christians, which commemorates the so-called paschal mystery of the Son of God, namely his passion, death and resurrection.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"urn:enhancement-baf8e279\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">Easter<\/span> is celebrated by the Christian Churches from the so-called Nicene Creed. These are all the Churches that, at the first Council of Nicaea, accepted the unity of the Son of God in his Father. The feast is always preceded by days of fasting, initially as an overnight vigil during which the story of salvation was told, which later evolved into the celebration of the so-called Paschal Triduum, preceded by a four-day preparatory period in the form of Lent.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"urn:enhancement-a4ab8f5f\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">Easter<\/span> also begins the fifty-day Easter period, culminating in the feast of <span id=\"urn:enhancement-9524a929\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/zeslanie_ducha_swietego\">Pentecost<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The whole week before Easter is called <span id=\"urn:enhancement-caf34248\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielki_tydzien\">Holy Week<\/span>. It is a time to remember the most important events for the Christian faith. The last three days (<span id=\"urn:enhancement-7e3def6a\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielki_czwartek\">Maundy Thursday<\/span> Evening, <span id=\"urn:enhancement-c782bb4b\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielki_piatek\">Good Friday<\/span>, <span id=\"urn:enhancement-2ee885ac\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielka_sobota\">Holy Saturday<\/span> i <span id=\"urn:enhancement-ebf5739c\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">Easter Sunday<\/span>) are called the Paschal Triduum. After darkness falls in the <span id=\"urn:enhancement-78bf4cef\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielka_sobota\">Holy Saturday<\/span>, a paschal is lit in churches to symbolize the risen Christ.<\/p>\n<p>After Easter Sunday, the celebration continues for another eight days. This is known as the Easter octave. Further on, the period extends for another 50 days. On the fortieth day we celebrate the Ascension Day of Jesus. The period ends with Pentecost Sunday (day number 50). Priests throughout the period, use white colored liturgical vestments during this time.<\/p>\n<p>Easter Day itself is certainly inseparable from Good Friday. First, the whole Church, together with all the faithful, relives the Lord's death on the cross (dying with him) in order to rise again with him.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Co_to_wielkanoc_Co_oznacza_Wielkanoc\"><\/span>What's Easter? What does Easter mean?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span id=\"urn:enhancement-bd47663f\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">Easter<\/span> is a symbol of Jesus' victory over death. It is the overcoming of death and the realization of divine power. It is important to remember that he was crucified and died for our sins. Thus, it is we ourselves, as it were, who die and are born again. The Easter period represents the greatest and most important mystery of our Christian <span id=\"urn:enhancement-5ec0303\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/wiara_chrzescijanstwo\">faith<\/span>. So we should celebrate it with special attention and during it we should fully devote ourselves <span id=\"urn:enhancement-a84896d4\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/bog_ojciec\">Mr.<\/span> and reflections on life and death.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth mentioning, by the way, that in <span id=\"urn:enhancement-49811b13\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/wiara_chrzescijanstwo\">believe<\/span> of the Orthodox Church, is also celebrated <span id=\"urn:enhancement-ec0649da\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">Easter<\/span>. It's called there <span id=\"urn:enhancement-1d314ff7\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/pesach\">Passover<\/span>and the whole week before that, Paschal Week. On the night of <span id=\"urn:enhancement-ae2d036d\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/soboty\">Saturdays<\/span> at <span id=\"urn:enhancement-8caa8e44\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/niedziela\">Sunday<\/span> <span id=\"urn:enhancement-b95534af\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/kosciol_budynek\">churches<\/span> Orthodox Christians celebrate the so-called Matins <span id=\"urn:enhancement-37ca3b0f\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wielkanoc\">paschal<\/span>. <span id=\"urn:enhancement-b793121c\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/wierni\">Faithful<\/span> throughout the week customarily greet each other with the words: \"<span id=\"urn:enhancement-6982be19\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-person\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/jezus_chrystus\">Christ<\/span> has risen from the dead.\" So you can see that in <span id=\"urn:enhancement-70a8826d\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/kosciol_budynek\">church<\/span> Orthodox, <span id=\"urn:enhancement-eabd542c\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01857\/entity\/wigilia\">Christmas Eve<\/span> and the period of the Lord's resurrection play as significant a role as they do in our <span id=\"urn:enhancement-a2b34573\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-other\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl01378\/entity\/kosciol_budynek\">church<\/span> Catholic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Easter?
