Is it necessary to go to Church on May 3? What holiday falls on May 3? May 3 is celebrated as a National Holiday in Poland. We celebrate then the anniversary of the Constitution of May 3, which, established in 1791, was the second constitution in Europe and the third in the world, just after the American one. In the ecclesiastical institution, holidays are divided into so-called commanded and uncommanded holidays. May 3 is classified as an unprescribed holiday. Therefore, on May 3 it is not necessary to go to church. However, it is worth celebrating this day with the Lord and all loved ones. In addition, every Catholic is obliged to visit the Church every Sunday. So if May 3 falls on a Sunday, we are obliged to attend Mass.
