It is difficult to say, as there are no paintings or sculptures from this period depicting the growth of Jesus.

Many historians believe that Jesus, based on Old Testament passages and Jewish tradition, was between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 at the time of his death. However, while being physically short in our era is not uncommon (in fact, about 23% people are shorter than we are), it would have been uncommon in Jesus' time - even if there is little evidence of how he actually looked. He may also be taller than we think, as he came from the royal line of David, which was known for its more substantial stature.

The Jews who settled in Rome centuries after the life of Jesus were, again, usually six feet tall if they were men.

Jesus is often portrayed as tall. Some images of Jesus differ, however - in some paintings he is shorter and more stocky than in the modern interpretation, or he is depicted as extremely tall with a halo over his head. It is difficult to say which portrait is correct because there is so much variation in the appearance of Jesus even within artworks depicting the story of the same narrative event.
