So what the hell is? Is it to be imagined as a huge cauldron in which demons run with pitchforks and the souls of the suffering are chained to the walls? Are all artistic visions of hell to be taken literally? Have painters, writers and artists understood what actually it's hell?
Hell i.e. locationHell is the state in which all the souls of the departed reside, condemned for their earthly sins or trespasses against God. Hell is a state, in what way ascends soulwho must serve her sentence after the final judgment.

What is it Hell? Hell is something beyond our earthly comprehension. It is like trying to imagine some extraterrestrial fourth or fifth dimension. Therefore all artistic visions try only to represent hell in a metaphorical way, using for this purpose tools that we know very well. Moreover, in answer to the question "What is hell?" it must be pointed out that it is also a place in which souls are for ever deprived of sight of and any contact with By God.

Thus hell is a state of final damnation, a state of eternal suffering and final punishment. It is the state of our souls, for man's body remains on earth. But the whole of his soul and consciousness is transferred to a place really unknown to any of us. We can only speculate about what it is like on the other side, and having an exact description of that place, we won't be able to deduce much from it anyway.
