Which is worse than hell? This is quite a troubling question, because in the Christian religion hell is the ultimate state of damnation, and can there be anything that is worse than hell? On many works of art, in many messages and in the general consciousness, hell is depicted as a location physical suffering, in which man encounters great torment, caused mainly by hellfire.

Imaging hell in this way, it might seem that there are worse things than hell. Every one of us has a primal fear of physical suffering, and can definitely imagine what sufferings might befall us. But looking at it from a completely different angle, picturing hell as a state of eternal damnation and, in fact, the sufferings of our soul which have little to do with physical suffering, it may be difficult to imagine greater pain and a worse state.

This mystical place where the souls of the dead for sins committed in mortal life reside is the worst place to which soul can hit. So there is nothing that could be worse than hell. It is the place of final punishment for sins, where all suffering souls find themselves. Hell is a state beyond our human comprehension, and therefore we cannot imagine the suffering it brings to all the condemned beings.
