Is it necessary to go to church in the new year?

Is it necessary to go to church on New Year's Day? New Year's Day, like most previous holidays, is not a commanded holiday. In canon law, it is not mentioned in the list of days on which the faithful must necessarily attend church. For many, New Year's Day is a day of rest after the lavish New Year's Eve party. However, we should remember that it is also a new beginning for many of us, and it is worth welcoming it in the community and praying to God for happiness for the new year. It is a good idea to start the new year with thanksgiving and requests for good luck and prosperity. Especially if this new year falls on a Sunday.
