Contrary to appearances, this specific kind of prayer is not reserved only for possessed people and exorcist priests, who speak appropriate words over them. The exorcistic prayer appears even during the reception of the sacrament of baptism, when the priest asks for freeing the child from original sin.

Another example of an exorcism prayer is that to St. Michael the Archangel, which reads:

Exorcist prayer

"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Against the wickedness and snares of the evil spirit be our defense. Let him BGod will slay, we humbly ask. And You, Prince of the heavenly host, Satan and other evil spirits, whothat are for the destruction of souls in the world, by the power of God, cast into hella. Amen"

This is known as a simple exorcism, which can be performed by anyone who is baptized. Among them are also specific prayers for release: from fear and from temptation. The words quoted above can be regarded as one of the methods of protection against demonic possession, which in the 21st century is, unfortunately, becoming more frequent. Therefore, Church authorities very widely encourage, for example, the recitation of the rosary, since Mary is considered a special "protective shield" in the fight against Satan.

One should, however, remember that one can encounter a more advanced form, which is a solemn exorcism. This prayer is reserved for priests of a higher rank - bishops and specially prepared exorcists to recite it. However, very important for every Catholic should be the three words "Jesus I trust in you", also considered as a kind of exorcism.
