Amendments to the Litany of Loreto

According to the definition of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, Pope Pius IX approved the invocation "Regina sine labe originali concepta, ora pro nobis." The invocation "Regina Sacratissimi Rosarii, ora pro nobis" was rewritten by Pope Leo XIII by decree in 1883. The same pope added the invocation "Mater boni consilii" in 19037, 8,9.
In an April 27, 1915 letter to Cardinal Gaspari, Pope Benedict XV ordered the addition of the invocation "Regina pacis, ora pro nobis" (Queen of Peace, pray for us) to the litany.

Cardinal Micara announced the decision of Pope Pius XII to order the addition of the invocation "Regina in cælum assumpta, ora pro nobis" (Queen raised to heaven, pray for us) after the invocation "Regina sine labe originali concepta" on October 31, 195011. On November 1, 1950, the dogma of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was defined12.

By the will of Pope Francis on June 20, 2020, three new invocations were introduced into the "Litany of Loreto" dedicated to the Virgin Mary: "Mother of Mercy" (Mater misericordiae), "Mother of Hope" (Mater spei) and "Consolation of Migrants" (Solacium migrantium).
